On-demand webinar

An on-demand webinar is a pre-recorded webinar an attendee can start whenever they want, rather than at a scheduled time — they register and watch immediately, on their own schedule.

On-demand vs. scheduled evergreen

Both use a recording, but the timing differs. A scheduled or just-in-time webinar starts at set times (or a few minutes after registration) to create a sense of a live event. A pure on-demand webinar removes even that — the attendee presses play the moment they sign up. On-demand maximises reach and convenience; just-in-time adds urgency. Many hosts offer both.

The engagement trade-off — and how it's solved

The historic knock on on-demand webinars is that they feel like watching a video alone: no way to ask a question. Older tools papered over this with simulated chat. The modern fix is real AI webinar chat that answers each viewer's genuine question from your content, so an on-demand session stays interactive at any hour.

When to use an on-demand webinar

On-demand suits top-of-funnel education, product explainers, and international audiences across time zones, where convenience beats urgency. For a comparison of tools built for this, see the best on-demand webinar software, or how Presentr handles it.
